Hi John,

I've used a zip file with 2 mp3s as my free download for a while, and I get LOTS of people unable to download their free mp3s. I end up emailing several individual mp3s a week to my new fans. Is there a better (easier) way to make my music available on my word press site for my technically challenged fans? I'd love for them to be able to see each song individually and opt to download each one, if possible.

Thanks!!  🙂

Hi Ali,

Steve here from support.

Yes, this is a problem with a lot of mobile devices, where they cannot handle zip files.

The simple way around it is to upload the bare mp3 versions of the tracks (unzipped) and make an adjustment to the follow-up email to include that option.  Here's some swipe copy to reference:

"Hey (NAME),

Thanks so much for taking the time to listen to my latest single.

You can download the track here:

http://link.com

Included in the download folder you will find (describe what they get).

Simply unzip the folder and, then drag and drop the files into your iTunes or any other appropriate folder.

If you are accessing this page via a mobile device just use the download app of your choice to save the track to your phone or tablet.

Or if you prefer, here is a direct link to the MP3 file which will allow you to listen now:

http://link.mp3

You might also keep an eye out for future emails. I'll be sending out (describe what they should expect).

And remember, I love hearing from you so (invite them to reply, comment, and engage).

Talk soon,

Your Name "

Let us know how you make out.

This is a signature file.  You can edit your own by clicking "profile" and selecting "Edit Signature".  You can make it an image, or just plain text.  You can also link it to wherever you like.  Perhaps your Squeeze Page?

What Steve mentioned is also a common and simple solution. I
