Hi! Do you have to be on a computer for them to get the download? I don't think you can get a zip file on a phone and I have had a few people ask that they couldn't download it because they were using their phone to do it instead of a computer. Also, I have had some people sign up to my mailing list and I only had the 1st email responder set up with their free track. I recently added a new follow up email to go 1 day after initial email but will it go out to those who signed up for my list before I published the second email?
Hi Richard,
I'm so sorry for the delayed response. For some reason we did not receive the email notification of your post, as we normally do, and I am just seeing the post by chance right now. Normally a response would be within a business day or two.
To answer your question, Unfortunately there are download limitations on all mobile devices. So this is what I have been sending people as a welcome message to deal with the issue.

I forgot to ask, but the link to listen would you just make a new page and upload it since it would be a small file? That of course wouldn't work for a full album though, so do you just leave the album as a zip file and troubleshoot each case for when they purchase the full album on a phone?
The link to listen is a link that goes directly to the MP3 file or files. By clicking it from a mobile device it will play the file in the mobile player. For download I zip everything up and link to the zip file. In both cases I upload the files to my media library. I haven't had very many issues or confused customers/subscribers at all, doing it this way.

What do you do for a full album? Give them a link to each track to listen to? Or do you just stick with the download zip file for full albums? Thanks so much!
Hi Richard,
You have a couple of options when it comes to the entire album...
I personally usually only provide the zip for a file, purely because it's a lot of links otherwise. My reasoning is that a customer has already spent the money. They care about you and your music, and will usually be happy to wait until they get home to download. As I say, this is not an issue specific to this process. The issue is universal to any media that needs to be downloaded. Those that are wrestles can always download an app as described in the instructions.
However, if this just doesn't work for you, you can either link to each track using anchor text (IE, track 1, track 2), or you can create a download page with a player on it. I have some concerns about deliverability of an email with that many links on it, which is another reason I might avoid including them in an email. However, there is a theoretical risk of illegal sharing of the download page. While that doesn't really concern me, those two issues are all part of why I just go with a zip file for customers. However with new subscribers, you don't have that same level of interest, and so it's worthwhile to make the process easy. For that reason, I would recommend providing the listening links for new subscribers.
There are a number of apps out there and to avoid support questions I leave that up to the user. However an example of one such app would be "Easy Downloader Free" from the iTunes app store:

Hope that helps.
Cheers.
