Has anyone used ThriveCart?

Hi John, Steve, everyone -

I've been looking at Thrivecart after discovering several independent online businesses (and a couple other music artists) are using it. It looks like it has everything you could want in terms of sales squeeze page, upsell redirects, and buyer options. It also claims to integrate with Weber and Paypal.

Obviously, I really want to be able to just integrate the shopping carts into my MMM 4.0 Wordpress site, our funnel works great, but the PayPal checkout function is starting to hinder some of the things we want to be able to do at the point of sale.

John - I recall your lesson with Josh from Empty Pockets, a lot of his selling strategies are mirrored beautifully in ThriveCart controls (name your price, free for shipping, add one more CD for just $5, etc)

What is your experience with it? They are claiming a one time buy-in for lifetime access, along with a "make your money back or we refund you" guarantee. I decided against using other cart programs in the past, but this one is holding my attention.

Thoughts?!?

Thanks man!

Hey Xerxes,

I don't use them, nor have I ever used them, so I can't really say anything good or bad about the product. However, I did take a good look at them a while back and there were a few things that I didn't like...

1. They do the old "pretend not to be live yet" if you go to the home page and then sell you the service when they magically go live a few days later via email. You may get a redirect since you've been cookied but I just went there and got the "we're not live yet message" despite being on their list for quite a long time. I got the same message when I originally signed upback in 2017. I just don't like that kind of dishonest marketing. My feeling is that anyone who would be sneaky once, will do it whenever they can.

2. I've also bout a few other products from the same company over the years, and while they were good, they eventually became obsolete, and I couldn't afford to use a service for subscriptions that might go obsolete in a few years time, forcing me to switch over to something else.

To my mind, I like Paypal, Stripe, and Shoppify as options. But if you ended up going with them and told me they were amazing, I wouldn't be shocked.
