Hello All,
Hope you're well. I'm just working on my first ever LTO page and could do with some advice on American-izing one section of the writing for US subscribers.
This is it: https://lcpumpkin.co.uk/ep4offer.html
For the "less than the price of a bag of chips and a pint..." section, could I change it to - "a bag of fries and a bottle of beer?", "a bag of chips and a glass of beer?"
I'm after something regular and mundane that people might eat on a night out at a live show.
The audience I'm going after are into indie rock, alternative, experimental, psych, garage rock, aged mid 20's and up.
All comments welcome on this, and any other aspects of the page.
Cheers!
Keith
Hi Keith,
There is a lot that I like about your page, and I would test it as is, but if you don't get great results, I think the biggest factor is going to be that you are using graphics rather than text. This is making the page appear very "loud" on desktop, and very small on mobile. It also required a lot of scrolling. Something to consider.
But the energy is good.
Since you are in the UK, I generally think that using your own references is a good thing. There is no way that being from the UK isn't going to be part of your charm, so why not go with it?
However, if you felt you needed a more American reference you might say something like, for less than the price of a Pizza... perhaps? Or you could say burger and fries? Or you could stay focused on the fact that the download is even cheaper and say for less than teh price of a Starbucks cappuccino. I think they run more than £2.50?
Let me know if I can help with anything else.

Thanks John,
That's very useful. I'll bear all that in mind. Maybe I'll just go for 'a slice of pizza and a pint of fine English ale' or something.
That sounds good Keith. Let us know how it goes and good luck!
