Wanted to share my squeeze page and conversion rates in case it could help anyone and in case anyone has suggestions of how I could make my squeeze page stronger while still maintaining a similar style. thanks! kat
Here's my current squeeze page: http://KatParsonsMusic.com
It is going to be switched over to this similar in style squeeze page tomorrow: http://www.amy-wilkins.com/Kat/
My current conversion rates are:
37.2% Mobile
29.2% Normal
14.3% from my squeeze page inserted on FB
19.8% from my FB PPC campaign (very small numbers/limited data)
I love, love, LOVE, data like this. Thanks for posting.
Your conversions aren't too bad.
37% is great.
29% is pretty solid, depending on the traffic source. For referred traffic that could be a little low, but not terrible.
14% on a FB squeeze is probably good. FB really sucks for focusing attention (in my opinion).
19% for a FB PPC is not terrible. Could be better. If data is low then you can't really say yet. I don't make any decisions until I've had AT LEAST 200 clicks.
The page looks good, and the new one is probably better (assuming your demographic likes cats...), but it's a bit week on the copy.
The whole push is based around "For a limited time: FREE DOWNLOAD "Love Changes Everything" the new single from singer-songwriter Kat Parsons' upcoming EP". That is only worth .99 cents to me if I don't know who you are. Obviously that is not a lot. But it's a good sign that it's still working as is. I think you could do a lot more to sell me on the experience that awaits me behind the opt in form.
I think it's really important to ask yourself what the traffic source is and target your copy based on that. For example in my FB traffic module I boosted conversions by over 100% just by matching the message in my headline with the target "interest". I think aligning your ad headline, your squeeze page headline, and demographic is really key for optimal conversion rates.
But you're not so far off.
And I know you don't like to do it, but I really think split testing against a squeeze page with a video of you just speaking to your prospect would do you well. I often don't think video is the best way to go on a squeeze, but my gut says you would do well. Something to try anyway.

ok, awesome- this is all really helpful- thanks john! i want to try all of this.
what do you think of copy like this for the squeeze page:
"About a year ago, I went into the studio for the first time, to record
my FIRST EVER happy love songs. (Not counting the one I wrote
for a stranger when I was on an MTV show....and that did not go well.:))
Music has been my ticket to the world...through music I've gotten
to travel to over 30 countries. And after my recent introspective release,
I just wanted to dance and make cakes!"
I'm sad to say that after 10 years, I still haven't landed on what i think is a great description of my music/the experience or who my target is. hopefully for the sake of this album, people who like kittens and cake. 🙂
For what part of the squeeze page? I wouldn't use that as a headline so much, which is what I think you're most in need of. But the copy itself is cool.
