Hi Folks!,

I just finished putting up the squeeze page for our project and would love to get feedback on anything you guys think could make it better. So far, I have setup this same squeeze page for youtube traffic and a facebook squeeze page. I'm also including a link with 4 songs for any of you that wouldn't mind listening and giving feedback as far as "sound a like" as well that could help with targeting the best audience. Thanks in advance for any and all help! I'm still new here, but loving this forum and reading everyone's input and ideas.

Darrell

Hi Darrell,

I think it's great.  I like the headline a lot.  Your page is simple and to the point and moves eyes over to the sign-up form.

The only thing I would suggest is where it says "Get Delana's Hit Single Free!" is a little blurry.  I would suggest doing it over, but doing it huge and then reducing it's size in your image editor, so that the font comes out a bit more crisp.  It's just a little blurry.

Another things is that you might want to bold-text the part in the last paragraph where you have your call to action, just to make it more prominent ...  "Just enter your name and email address..." in bold should do.

Other than that, I think the quotes are great and you've got a solid squeeze page there.

Let us know how it's converting for you.

Steve,

Thanks so much for the input and advice. I'm trying to make the "enter name and email address" etc. bold but Sea Monkey won't change it to bold for some reason. I highlight it, and then click the "B" for bold in the tool bar but it won't change. About the only thing that will change is if I hit the button to underline the text that I highlight. Do you have any tips? Thanks again for your help.

Darrell,

Not sure why SeaMonkey would do that, unless you were in the viewer, rather than the editor, but you did say you could underline it so...

Here's what you could do instead, but make a back-up copy of your page first:

If you view your page in the 'html source' mode.  You'll find that string of text on line 63 (your page is only 90 lines, if that helps you find it faster).

All you have to do is type:
< strong >Just enter your name and email address in the right hand side of this site,< /strong >

However, you want to remove the spaces out of < strong > and < /strong >

I just typed it that way so this forum wouldn't render it in the browser, since it is html code.  You wouldn't have been able to see the strong tags otherwise. Confused

Let us know how you make out.

Steve,

That did it! Thanks very much. It looks good in Explorer but, in Firefox, it pushes the links at the bottom of the page over to the right side of the page. Still trying to figure out how to fix that and will then upload the new one. Thanks again for your help. Really appreciate it!

Darrell,

Yeah, I see what you mean.  I just made my suggested changes to your page using Firebug (firefox plugin) and saw exactly what you said about the paragraph bleeding down and the links being pushed oiver.

There is a way to fix this as well, but it involves making a change to the css stylesheet. (style.css)

Download the file style.css from your website.  Make a copy of it for safety's sake.

After you download style.css from your website, you can open it with notepad.  Look for the section of the sheet that says:

#container {
    background-color: #FFFFFF;
    border-radius: 5px 5px 5px 5px;
    box-shadow: 1px 1px 2px #999999;
    height: 925px;
    margin: 10px auto 0;
    padding-bottom: 10px;
    text-align: left;
    width: 900px;
}

What you need to do is change the height attribute to 940px;

Then save changes and reupload.  Your site will ask if you want to overwirte the existing copy of style.css and you want to say yes.

Be careful not to change anything else on the stylesheet and make sure it says height: 940px;  with both the colon and semi-colon.

That will extend the white background portion of your squeeze page, so that your entire paragraph fits again and the bottom links will be unaffected by you bolding the call to action.

Let me know how you make out.

P.S.  If you find yourself editing the paragraph in the future, you can change this height attribute to whatever makes the page look right.

Hey Darrell,

My apologies for not jumping in sooner on this. I got this thread confused with our other thread where we discussed the music and thought that I had already responded. Sorry about that.

Anyway, page looks really good to me and I like the headline a lot. I think the headline makes for a great "general" page or one that is targeting a fairly broad audience. If you were running paid advertising to it I might split test it against something that had a headline more specifically related to your targeting, but for organic Youtube and Facebook traffic I think this should work well.

Great job!

John,

No problem man, it was  similar to my other post. LOL! I'll be trying to think of headlines to use for split testing between now and the time I do a paid ad. Thanks for the input.

Cool. Most important thing is to just really think about your targeting, why a person clicked on the ad, and how your copy and offer line up with those two factors. I'm doing a little testing for fellow IC member no@radionowhere, and it's been helping to drive home how important it is to think about WHY someone clicked on an ad in the first place, and making sure your offer lines up with that reason. Smart targeting is also going to be very important as well. With something like Facebook ads, your squeeze page copy needs to really speak to their target interests. But with something like article marketing, organic social media, or SEO, a broader headline might make more sense.

John,

Thanks for the insight. I'm a few days in to the Twitter strategy and targeting tweets of one artist at a time and I'm trying to pay attention to which ones seem to get more conversions to try and use that info whenever I do start a paid ad campaign. Far from perfect obviously, since some people may not go to the squeeze page for several days, but its still fun to watch it. Thanks again for the tips!
