Hi John:

I just signed up with AWeber.  Does the template that AWeber refers to as a Web Form serve the same function as your squeeze page template?  If so, any pros/cons to their templates or yours other than graphic preferences?  Thanks, John.

Hey Dan,

I use getresponse which has a form editor, but I think what you are referring to is the code aweber gives you for the form itself.

It is different from the squeeze page in that the form is just a part of the squeeze page.  So for instance, the page will look and feel as you want it to, and the form code that aweber gives you can be copied and pasted into the area of the squeeze page where you would like place it.

So no, the page is different from the form... the form will be placed on the squeeze page.

Does that answer your question?

Steve is right. A squeeze page is actually just a concept. It's a type of web page that is designed to "squeeze content out of the visitor". The web form is the bit of code that facilitates the actual sign up.

You place the "web form" code in the "squeeze page". Make sense?

Hi John,

I have 2 technical questions about the squeeze page:

1. I set up my squeeze using the html form that you kindly offered. I set up an auto-responder from GetResponse. But when I checked how it works, it didn't deliver the follow-up message right away. So my guess is that I forgot to set the 1st follow up message to be delievered after 0 days. My question is: if I go and change these settings in the auto-responder, how could I apply these changes in the squeeze page? Shall I edit it again using Sea Monkey, and then upload it again on my domain? Or could I edit it directly in the domain? I'm a complete begginner in web design and web hosting, so maybe my question seems a little stupid, but I hope I made sense.

[Update: I found the problem: I was sending a follow-up message from a different campaign than the auto-responder's. Still the questions remains: how could you make changes to your squeeze-page, after uploading it on your domain?]

2. I tried to upload the squeeze page to my main domain, following the instruction in your video (I'm with Hostgator, and I uploaded in the public_html directory). But it doesn't appear in my yourname.com address, but in yourname.com/index.html

See it here in all its splendour:

Any suggestions on that? What did I do wrong?

Also, I would appreciate any opinions of the members of the Insider Circle about my squeeze page.

Thank you.

...And also a question for Steve:

Any idea why the link to the download appears this way in the 1st follow-up email being sent through GetResponse:

http://app.getresponse.com/cli.....t&

although I wrote it this way in the body of the follow-up message:

http://mi-mi-mi-singersongwrit.....in.mp3.zip

?

Thank you.

My best guess here is that you have click tracking on.  Unless you accidentally made a mistake.  I don't think you did though.  Link tracking will report how many people are clicking these links in case you are ever interested.

My pleasure.

Just so you know too... it only does that when you post a plain link.  If you happen to turn words into a link, it will show your words to the reader instead of the ugly link, however the tracking will still work.

Sounds like Steve has you covered but for what it's worth, I'm not a Getresponse user so I'm not 100% sure how they go about things. With aweber you can just insert the Javascript code and then whenever you make changes in the Aweber admin area your code is automatically updated on your site. I'm guessing Getresponse has a similar function.

And as Steve said regarding link tracking, I leave my link tracking on but I use my actual domain as the anchor text for the link itself. That way it looks like a natural link (which people tend to feel most comfortable clicking), but it still tracks the click.
