I really don't dig the way the checkout process is experienced through PayPal. PayPal has updated their "checkout page" and it's not nearly as clear as it used to be (the way it is in MMM's videos).
It takes about 8 seconds to load the PayPal gateway (at least on my computer) and then when you get to the next page, it doesn't even describe what you're buying.
I'd like to integrate a much simpler checkout service, similar to the one that I experienced when I signed up for MMM. A small window that pops up, lets me enter my credit card info, and that's it. Super simple. Clean. Fast. And what I'd expect.
Just to preface, I'm not worried about a larger monthly fee or the IT headache getting it set-up.
Is 1shoppingcart the only premium checkout option you suggest? Can you let me know why you like 1shoppingcart over other options?

I hear you. I personally hate Paypal as well. I recommend them because it's a free universal option and most of my customers want free. 1shoppingcart is just the only other service I have a lot of experience with. But in my opinion they cost to much for most musicians.
Stripe is something I will be using on an upcoming project, however they are more designed for developers and you might need a plugin or a coder to make it do what you want. You might look into Stripe Checkout.
But I think the best advice would be to go to Aweber and look at their apps. See what payment solutions they integrate with and then start researching from there. That would be one of the most important features of the process. If you find one that you are happy with, be sure to let us know. I agree that Paypal is clunky.
