Just a quick update - the video views are still rising. It's up above 120,000 now and still growing by a few hundred a day.
Twitter followers are at 1600, using the Tweepi technique that was mentioned elsewhere in the forums, although I think Twitter is firming up its view of 'aggressive' following and unfollowing, so we are treading carefully.
The important figure - email subscribers - is up to 370. Not huge, but from a standing start at Easter, not too shabby.
We're planning some promo up to the release of Beth's debut single in July, so we'll be picking up our split testing techniques as we go.
Thanks for your help - it's been so good to have all the resources from this site and MMM to draw on.

That's awesome Deb. Those YouTube numbers are pretty impressive. Well done. And not at all bad on the subscriber numbers with free traffic alone. Keep it going 😉

Thanks, John.
We got most of the YouTube traffic by submitting a video to one of the content curation sites (San Francisco Globe). Because it has a cute story behind it, they picked it up and from there it got picked up by other content curation sites.
This is it, if you are interested:

We are going to try this again with another video soon. It's worth bearing in mind that there are a lot of these sites and they all need content, so if a video can be captioned with an engaging headline and supported by an interesting story, they may well use it. The video wasn't even a very good one, but in this case that was part of the story and added to the authenticity of the piece.
Hope this is helpful - I haven't quite finished listening to this month's training on free traffic, but I think this might add some value for people who are trying to find an audience so I'll pop along and post it there too.

Awesome, you just described content marketing and guest blogging perfectly 🙂
You mind explaining to folks how you went about finding the site that ultimately published the video?
Video does a great job. Looks like there is a lot of love in the comments as well. Rare for YouTube.
