We just released a new EP and our squeeze page website is http://sunspotuniverse.com

We've got autoresponders set up at Aweber for everyone that downloads from Bandcamp and so far, that's been about 8% conversion rate for spending once they're on the list. But I'd love to know how that initial page looks.

Right now, we're doing a Radio Airplay campaign to determine the bands that we sound most like and once we get some more certainty there, we're going to start a Google AdWords campaign.

My only two complaints are:

1. I wish the red arrow was bigger. I think it needs to be more dominant in order to cause the reader to look at the download offer.

2. I want to see a big "download" button. As far as prominence goes, it sort of just sits there quietly with the "share" link. It should scream, "HERE I AM! PUSH ME!"

Also, how are you collecting the email address? I clicked the download link and got a "name your own price" box, does it come up after that?

Just my thoughts.

Awesome, Tim. Thanks for the feedback. The way Bandcamp does it is to get the e-mail address when the person enters 0 for name your own price, but I was testing that. It might be better to just have that be an Aweber form and people enter their emails and get sent the download link. I like the idea of the download button, that'll be the next thing we try. Thanks again!

Hey Mike, sorry for the slow response. Been slammed all week as I finish up MMM 3.0.

I was thrown by the lack of an opt in field. For me it's all about the list. And I think sending people anywhere at all is too much of a step and it will hurt conversions. I would stick with Aweber and then email them the track. But hey, you never know until you test. The page looks good though. These days I personally rely on the clean white squeeze page template. But what you have certainly works and you've done a good job of laying it all out.

Cool, thanks for the tips John. I think going back to the Aweber opt-in might be the best way, plus it's one less step for us (we're currently getting the emails from Bandcamp every day and putting them into the sales funnel.)

The Radio Airplay campaign is almost done and I think we've got some good modern bands that we sound like, so I'm going to be adjusting marketing to search results for bands that sound like that. Then we'll be testing copy and seeing if we can't get those conversions up!

Looks like a really cool squeeze page, Mike... especially those cool testimonials you got listed in abundance.  Great job, so you are primarily planning on using Bandcamp and Google ad words to drive traffic to this page?

Thanks, Chris. We just started with Google AdWords yesterday to start driving some traffic so we can start testing out the copy. We were using Bandcamp as the distribution mechanism because we set our online store up through them, but I'm changing that for the limited time offer because they unfortunately aren't great for deals and specials.

We used RadioAirplay.com for a couple of months to get feedback on the bands whose fans liked us the most. I selected 4 acts that I thought made the most sense and then I'm putting up simple Google ads that say

Like [artist name]?

You'll love Sunspot.

So, we'll test that first, then the squeeze page and then the email auto responders.

I'd be happy to swap some feedback on email auto responders if anyone wants to do that!

Feel free to post anything you'd like feedback on. I'm sure many would be benefit from it, and hopefully be inspired to share their own stuff. just do me a favor and start a new thread so it doesn't get lost in this one. Thanks Mike.
