how to generate income from your music on twitch

In episode #41 of the Music Marketing Manifesto Podcast we will speak with Karen Allen the author if “Twitch for Musicians” about how musicians can use the world’s largest streaming platform for gamers to grow their fan base and potentially generate a full-time income from their music.

I also want to remind everyone that I recently released a 90 minute mini-course on generating income from your music during lockdown, called “The Emergency LTO”. and have added it to the Insider Circle (my private mastermind program). While this normally costs $47/month, I am offering everyone 30 days worth of access for just $1 during lockdown. The $1 charge covers my transaction fees, and gives you complete access to over 100 music marketing lessons, live weekly coaching calls, my private mastermind forum, and more.

…and, if you decide to stay on beyond the first month, I’ll even give you a 40% discount for the life of your membership.

  • Love this, thank you so much! Is there anything I need to do to sign up for $1 for the first month, with the 40% lifetime deal after? Or perhaps I missed it? Looking forward, thanks again!

      Hi Nathan,

Glad you enjoyed this one. The offer you are asking about was a promo I ran last year at the beginning of all of the shutdowns. Unfortunately it is no longer offered. Sorry about that.

Let me know if I can ever help with anything else.

  • Anna says:

Thank you very much for help me with the twitch thing. Unfortunately, I deleted this application & while back not really understanding it and after listening to your podcast on it. Now I have found some more excited and different things I should try on it now!

  • Very interesting podcast too. Thanks John.

  • Ekow Armah says:

Hi John, tried checking out streamthesongs.com- couldn’t find it anywhere. Did I get the website right?
    Thanks

    • John Oszajca says:

      Hi Ekow,

I don’t remember the link you are referring to. If you let me know what the minute mark is where this is mentioned I can look into it. You might also try reaching out to Karen, assuming she was the one who mentioned it.

    • Rog Valentin says:

Maybe it was Streamlabs or Streamelements? Karen mentions these around the 55 minute mark.
Restream.io does similar things and it’s got more free features.

  • Just joined Twitch today from listening to this podcast as I respect your opinion very much John! Hope all is well with you and the family and you’re staying safe! Keep doing what you’re doing in helping out independent musicians! 🙂

  • frank myraas says:

    Is it copy right safe?
can I be sure my original music is not stolen or used without my permission?
I am painfully sensitive about how my music will be received,

  • JOEY WELZ says:

As you know, i own a huge catalog of oldies via my acquiring the canadian american label; i also sign and release new independent artists and of course that includes meas an artist (joey welz(i have made over 100) albums, all up on cd baby and the orchard. they generate a nice income for me, so i want to know, if i assign some of our music to twitch, how can that work with the existing isrc numbers, and would i have to remove my releases from cd baby and the orchard in order to work with twitch. as i said, my music is already on spotify etc and earning a nice income, so i would not want to compromise that, by joining twitch, but would consider joining with new music? how much does it cost?

i am also the publisher of all my music,,,,cheers, awaiting your answer; joey welz (ceo)

  • Cool John, I started setting up my studio with this in mind. Now I have a better idea on what it will take and the options available.

Awesome Robert! Keep me in the loop on how you’re doing with it and let me know if I can ever help at all.

  • Sam cook says:

    Im already on sound cloud
    ITunes and spotify

    • John Oszajca says:

That’s great Sam. But you may be confusing “streaming” with “live streaming”. They are completely different, and this episode outlines a strategy for live streaming on Twitch.

      Cheers.

  • Anthony says:

    Great podcast John-

I had heard of Twitch but never investigated it. Very informative-Some really good nuggets to take away from the interview. I checked out Fantastic Plastic and Halo Cene so far. Feels like it’s geared towards a younger audience which is great and the 2 bands I checked out had a lot of energy and engagement for the listener-definitely a community feel….very cool!!

Thank you for doing this podcast-

    Anthony

  • Hanafi says:
