First of all, I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

It really has been an amazing year and I hope it’s been just as great for every single one of you as well!

As you settle in for your Christmas Holiday and the inevitable carb-coma that is sure to follow, I wanted to send you a link to a little present of my own…

It’s the first “official episode of the Music Marketing Manifesto Podcast.

In this episode we talk to musician and entrepreneur, Paul Loeb. Paul discusses how he uses StumbleUpon to drive as many as 40,000 visitors to his squeeze page each month, building his mailing list and ultimately selling albums as a result.

We then take questions from YOU GUYS and discuss, music marketing, band promotion and the music business in general.

Here’s what I need you to do next…

To listen to the podcast simply click here and go to itunes.

Once there, click “Subscribe Free” and the latest episode should start to download immediately.

Note* You may not see the episode in the itunes index of episodes yet, but it WILL download when you click subscribe.

While you’re there, I’d very much appreciate it if you’d take the time to share the love and leave a nice review 🙂

There are also a few older interviews posted as well so you can get some bonus content while you’re at it.

That’s about it for now. Merry Christmas to all of you and your families. I hope you have a great time and here’s to a kick ass new year!

Hi John I bought your course for my fourteen year old son, Kristian who is a fanatic about his music. He plays the violin and composes songs and symphonic poems. I am looking for ways to promote him and a friend of mine recommended I look into your sight. Some body else told me to look into an article in reference into who owns your posting on the social medias and also your contact list. I would like your views on that

      Hi Mitsouko,

Thanks for your interest. I’m sure you’ll find some very useful info here. As far as social sites, you definitely want to read their respective terms of service as far as ownership and “fair use”.

For mailing lists, I recommend that every artist get the habit of establishing a mailing list that they have 100% ownership over. This something you cannot do with social media or music retail sites. What I recommend is using a reliable autoresponder/ contact management service such as Aweber.

That’s the one I use and recommend to others. You can find out more about Aweber here:

Thanks again for the comment and let me know if I can ever be of help again. 🙂

  • I don’t see this “submit a site” option in my new stumbleupon a/c. All I see is “share any page with your connections”. This requires making individual connections on stumbleupon. My new a/c doesn’t have any connections. I have to go make them. In the podcast it sounded like this “submit a site” submission is sent out to all stumbleupon users. So, has this changed recently or what? Please explain…

    Hi again John,

Another great and very informative podcast! I am really looking forward to putting some of these ideas into practice and ultimately signing up for the course and maybe eventually the insiders circle (which I would love to join it just depends on funds).

I didn’t realise that you are also based here in New Zealand during the year, I live in Auckland. How long have you been making your way down here?

    Cheers,
    Joe

    • John Oszajca says:

      Hi Joe,

Thanks for listening. Glad you enjoyed it. I generally spend about half the year here In NZ. My fiancee is a Kiwi and we bought a house out here two years ago. Been visiting for about 5.

I might look into throwing some kind of event together for Kiwi’s at some point. We’ll see.

HI John, this is a tremendous interview. I have also heard of stumbleupon but have not explored it. I took down a bunch of notes while listening to the podcast. Like yourself I’m going to look into stumbleupon and create something there.I’ll contact my website designer and take it from there. I’m excited that new avenues are opening up and it’s big part thanks to you finding these wonderful entrepreneurs who are breaking ground. thanks ever so much for putting this all together. I didn’t know you were in New Zealand. You may be far away from here (montreal) but your advice and guidance is really close to home. bye 4 now JOhn, back to work with the music biz. Mark

    • John Oszajca says:

      Hi Mark,

Awesome! I thought that was really exciting as well, given how simple Stumbleupon really is to use. So glad you took the time to listen and that you are getting something out of the podcast. Thanks and definitely let me know if I can ever be of help. 🙂
