The Power of Words – Podcast Episode #30
In Episode #30 of the Music Marketing Manifesto Podcast you will hear the audio replay taken from a music marketing webinar I held earlier this week.
The focus of the webinar, and therefore this episode, is the power of words!
Promoting your music online means creating content. That might be a Facebook ad, a social media post, a landing page, a blog post or an email. But the actual words you use in that content, and the approach you take, has a tremendous impact on the results you ultimately get.
This discipline of using words to drive engagement and sales is called “Copywriting”, and weather you know it or not, it’s one of the most important skills you will ever learn.
Listen in as I explain why copywriting is so important, and share some of my best strategies for creating content that converts.
If you would like to download the presentation slides that I used in the webinar, you can do so here.
And if you would like to know more about the “Copywriting for Musicians Workshop” mentioned in the podcast, you can click here to get all the details.

Thanks for the kind words.
Testing 1-2!!!!! sorry John couldn’t resist !! Hope your well dude? Completed the AWSOME MMM4 and getting results from FB ads. What would you recommend to move into to advance with soc media advertising. The inner Circle or Ads workshop? BTW as a shout out/testimonial to John and MMM4 the facebook ads lessons are brilliant within MMM4, and you can start building a mailing list very consistently, so my enquiry is more about getting a bit more advanced.
All the Best Alex
Hi Alex,
Steve here, from MMM Support. John is currently traveling and asked me to get back to everyone in the meantime. We hope you don’t mind.
Congrats on finishing the course and we’re very happy to here that you’ve gotten some good results with your campaign.
To move into more advanced strategies, we would generally recommend the Insider Circle, as there are many different directions that you can head in, all revolving around the core MMM strategy.
The Music Ads Workshop 2.0 deals primarily with Facebook advertising, and the Facebook ad manager in its current form. What you’ll learn is how to properly target your cold traffic in a more detailed way than the cursory look you get from the MMM 4.0 course (which covers many detailed topics), as well as the ways that you can retarget your existing subscribers on the social platform.
If your primary method for marketing is to run Facebook ads and follow the MMM strategy, the Music Ads Workshop might be a nice focused direction to move, to help you refine and master what you’re currently doing, whereas the Insider Circle might lead you in many varying directions.
If you think you’ve got the bases covered with your Facebook campaigns, then by all means feel free to explore the Insider Circle.
Let us know if we can ever help with anything else.
THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION
Hi Rohit,
Happy to share. Thanks for your interest.
Great stuff John. I admit, I struggle with writing copy. But what you outlined made a lot of sense and gave me a bunch of ideas. Thanks!
My pleasure Skeeter. Glad you got something from it. Cheers.
I’m so glad you posted the replay. I missed the live call but really wanted to check it out. I plan to sign up for the Workshop in the next day or two.
Question… What if I can’t make the live lessons in the workshop? Will there be replays of the live lessons?
Thanks for listening Sarah. I look forward to seeing you in the workshop.
No worries if you can’t make a live session. You can submit questions in advance and the replay recordings will all be available for later viewing and download.
Thanks for listening.
This was really well done John. Clear and easy to follow. Thanks for posting it.
Thanks Eric. Glad you enjoyed it.
