Thoughts on Songwriting
With Music Marketing Manifesto being a marketing-centric site, I tend not to focus much on the craft of songwriting. However, I recently had the pleasure of sitting in with Eyvindur Karlsson on “The one Bad Day, Songwriting Podcast” to discuss the use of imagery in songwriting, and share a bit of insight into my songwriting process, a least as it pertains to words. I thought it might be fun to take a rare excursion into the topic of songwriting and share the chat with you guys.

Very cool, thanks for posting that John. I can definitely relate to your process, etc. as I tend to write in a similar way. I just need to get over the fact that when people hear my songs and don’t necessarily interpret it the way I meant it, that it’s okay. At least they’re listening and that is gratifying in itself.
