John Oszajca on the One Bad Day Songwriting Podcast

With Music Marketing Manifesto being a marketing-centric site, I tend not to focus much on the craft of songwriting. However, I recently had the pleasure of sitting in with Eyvindur Karlsson on “The one Bad Day, Songwriting Podcast” to discuss the use of imagery in songwriting, and share a bit of insight into my songwriting process, a least as it pertains to words. I thought it might be fun to take a rare excursion into the topic of songwriting and share the chat with you guys.

***You may recognize Eyvindur’s voice, as he has sat in on a few recent episodes of the Music Marketing Manifesto Podcast.

If you like what you hear, be sure to subscribe to his podcast, Eyvindur publishes regular episodes, full of helpful tips, about the craft of songwriting, and if you’re a fan of songwriters like Tom Waits, be sure to check out his music while you’re there. It’s good stuff!

And finally, if you like what you hear, or have any questions about songwriting that weren’t asked on the podcast, please post them below.

Very cool, thanks for posting that John. I can definitely relate to your process, etc. as I tend to write in a similar way. I just need to get over the fact that when people hear my songs and don’t necessarily interpret it the way I meant it, that it’s okay. At least they’re listening and that is gratifying in itself. Thanks again-

      Hi Rudy,

Yes, people will always project they’re own meanings and interpretations onto songs. I definitely appreciate you checking out the interview.

Let me know if I an ever help with anything.
